O café da manhã é uma refeição aprovada. Mesmo sem plebiscito. Do mesmo jeito que o Sol se levanta, o café da manhã levanta a gente. Pode ser em hotel (maravilhoso), pode ser em beira de estrada (maravilhoso).

Não tem muito o que errar, mesmo se o café estiver quente, não muito ralo, já se começa bem. Não é uma refeição que exija frescuras, você ainda não teve tempo de afivelar a máscara gourmet. Café e pão com manteiga, uma elegância só.

De manhã cedo, aqui no bairro, os passarinhos fazem um fundo de pequenos gritos breves, metálicos, como aqueles brinquedos que se compram nas feiras, de palha, nem sei se ainda existem, mas que imitam com perfeição essas faíscas do seu canto, afinando os instrumentos para mais tarde.

Por sorte, tenho duas galinhas pequenas que ficam bem debaixo da minha janela e que encarregam de simplificar a vida. Barulho de galinha é sempre maternal, meio engrolado, como se estivessem ninando uns pintinhos inexistentes.

E não há filósofo que vença uma galinha. Ela é sem explicações, prenhe de realidade, irredutivelmente real e atemporal.

Quando botam, aí é uma gritaria sem fim, um júbilo escandaloso, um susto bom, afinal deve ser uma delícia já levantar botando ovo.

E ainda tem todos os barulhos de uma casa matutina, os murmúrios das pessoas, com bom ou mau humor, o pingar de um chuveiro, um súbito cheiro de sabonete, o cachorro meio perdido querendo morder o rabo e uma corrida quixotesca pelo quintal atrás de gatos.

Nada de ovos com bacon, o que é uma pena, pois o cheiro é uma viagem para longe, antes de levantar. Mas, voltemos ao café. O café pode dar segurança para um dia inteiro. Se tem um bom café quente, metade do dia está resolvida. Alguns desastres vão acontecer de todo jeito, como deixar cair molho na camisa branca na hora do almoço, mas nada importa, é desses pequenos fragmentos que é feita a vida. Desígnios de um pequeno deus auxiliar.

As manhãs são diferentes das madrugadas, só se pensa em miudezas e à medida que ela chega inteira começam a fugir as preocupações da noite, a falta de investimentos, a crise, a descapitalização. O que é tudo isso contra um pão bem fresco?

O melhor é que todos os barulhos sejam feitos por outra pessoa, não por você. Café da manhã alcança seu pico quando é feito pelos outros, não se engane.

Alguém solta o cachorro, alguém põe o feijão no fogo, e ouve-se os barulhos das mulheres que trabalham pensando que não estão sendo vigiadas. Um amuo de raiva porque alguém quebrou dois pratos, a batida mais firme na porta do armário de madeira, um equilibrar a água quente com a fria cantando baixinho, nada de nada, ou alguma canção muito velha, perdida no tempo, quase murmurada. “Errei, sim, manchei o teu nome, mas foste tu mesmo o culpado.”

Os homens da obra ao lado entram com a fúria da motosserra e gritam suas paixões, e ligam o rádio, e berram, berram acima do clamor. Pudera, são todos surdos, que no fim de semana vão caçar uma brancarrona pra sentar no colo deles, oi, rapaiz! Felizes, alto, alto, espatifam a manhã.
