Aniversário infantil saudável?

Começa-se a passear pela internet, esse enorme parque de diversões, e de repente descobre-se um blog, aquele te manda para outro, e acaba-se achando alguma coisa da qual não se tinha ideia.

Fui parar no rachellaudan.com. É uma historiadora que gosta de comida e passeia pelo mundo atrás dos seus dois assuntos preferidos.

Em 2011, fez um sucesso de escândalo com artigo que publicou “A Plea for Culinary Modernism: Why We Should Love New, Fast, Processed Food” (um apelo para culinária moderna: por que deveríamos amar a nova e rápida comida processada).

Li o artigo que pode ser encontrado no número um da revista “Gastronomica” e no jornal “New York Times”. Censurava a moda da nostalgia e nos convencia de que a palavra de ordem é a do aperfeiçoamento da comida processada. Descobri que temos algumas ideias em comum, ou meias ideias, sujeitas ainda à verificação.

Por exemplo, acho um exagero separar o lixo em três, se sabemos que ele vai parar no mesmo lixão. Quer dizer, não me importo nada com os três lixos, cada um tem quantos lixos quiser. Mas, de mania em mania, tenho medo que a outra geração saia com medo de comida, apavorada com todos os problemas dos quais tem que cuidar.

No outro dia, numa festa que estava fazendo, vi um menino de uns três anos, surtado, em frente a quatro latas de lixo. Já havia aprendido em casa a lidar com três, mas queria jogar alguma coisa fora e não conseguia adivinhar onde. Tremia de angústia, juro, pequenininho e aterrorizado com o enigma do lixo.

Uma casa de festas nos pediu menus de aniversários infantis saudáveis. Já me arrepio toda, fico com uma pena das criancinhas, no dia do aniversário, comendo sanduíche de pão preto com brotos, bolo de cenoura, vagens e pepinos espetados na coalhada, brigadeiro de tofu! (deve existir). Vão crescer esquisitos em relação à comida, garanto.

É que sou bem ignorante quanto às pegadas que vamos deixando para trás. Como se mede isso? Vejo na TV, num programa sobre crianças (assisto um bocado de TV, é verdade) em que são levadas para parques para plantarem um feijãozinho, com as caras mais felizes de quem está salvando o planeta.

Assisto à saída de carro com a mãe, ao trânsito, ao avental branco e ao sapato ficando pretos de lama, imagino que vai ser preciso lavar o carro, o sapato, o avental na máquina, tomar um banho… Bem, se a criança estivesse em casa assistindo a um desenho ou plantando o feijão na varanda acho que o mundo ganharia uma boa meia hora.

E uma festa para mil no interior, onde não se pode usar nada de papel mesmo sendo reciclável pela santa causa da sustentabilidade? E o transporte dos pratos de caminhão e a lavação de pratos e copos e talheres pelas mulheres contratadas para tal, que vão chegar em São Paulo depois de três horas de viagem e, só então, começar a volta para casa em mais três ônibus? Exaustas? Que sustentabilidade é essa?

Daí me chamarem de antiecológica. Ora, vão ter que acoplar um aparelho medidor de sustentabilidade no meu braço, para me convencer de muita coisa que andam tramando por aí.
